The Forkin Score is a transparent calibration of the published evidence behind this venue's editorial stamp — not a personal dining rating, and never derived from Google data. It starts from the stamp's base value, applies the five evidence adjustments below, then clamps the result inside the stamp's band.

WORTH A LOOK
Confidence: mediumForkin desk assessment of attributable public coverage — not a personal dining review.
Re-evidenced 17 Aug 2026. The MICHELIN Guide restaurant page for this exact outlet does carry inspector prose and is newly counted. The SG Food on Foot piece previously counted is explicitly labelled an invited tasting and is reclassified. That leaves the MICHELIN page plus two Ranting Panda reviews — but two articles from the same publisher are one independent source for consensus purposes, so effectively two distinct publishers support the stamp, and Ranting Panda declares no independence policy. WORTH A LOOK, not top band.
What public coverage says
The MICHELIN Guide’s inspector page for the Level 35 Orchard Road outlet describes an interior that still exudes luxury and elegance after refurbishment, in an updated and understated register, and a head chef who trained for over twelve years at the Tokyo branch and champions a refined take on Chūka Sichuan cooking, singling out his signature mapo tofu and a stir-fried Hokkaido Mangalica pork. The Ranting Panda’s December 2024 and August 2025 visits to the same address are also favourable, on the revamped dining room and menu and on the S$88++ weekend brunch respectively.

Reclassified to context; invited access is not independent. Both remaining blog sources are from one publisher, The Ranting Panda, so the source count is effectively two distinct publishers (MICHELIN and Ranting Panda), not three. Two articles by one publisher cannot read as multi-source consensus. The Ranting Panda publishes no independence or payment policy and neither article carries a hosting, invited or sponsorship disclosure. Its About page presents readership and follower statistics in media-kit form. Whether either visit was hosted is therefore unresolved and is reflected in the low consistency factor. The MICHELIN restaurant page displays no award level in its markup. The previous record’s basis text asserted "One Michelin-starred"; that claim is attributable only to The Ranting Panda’s own wording and is not restated here as fact. Forkin guide copy for this venue separately asserts a 2026 one-star listing; that claim is outside the scope of this pass and should be re-checked. The 2018 DanielFoodDiary reference to two MICHELIN stars is historical and describes the Mandarin Orchard-era operation; retained as lineage context only. This venue has no published Forkin listing page (known orphan score); its score renders only in the Chinese-restaurants guide and rankings.
