The Populus is a decade-old gastro-cafe on Neil Road, from the team behind Department of Caffeine, and the countable record is unusually longitudinal for a Singapore cafe: warmly reviewed at opening in 2015-2016 for the Populus Scramble and the spring-onion-and-corn pancake with fried chicken, and revisited in 2022 as a place that had outlasted its trendier neighbours and improved on a weekday.
