The Short Version
China Street Hum Jin Pang was a heritage hawker stall at Maxwell Food Centre known for savoury dough fritters (hum jin pang) priced at $1 for five pieces, historically letting customers fry their own. The stall traced back to street-vendor origins before moving into Maxwell Market in 1986. Its closure was announced on 24 August 2026 via an Instagram video by Deitrich Mohan, owner of neighbouring stall Maxwell Fuzhou Oyster Cake, who said the stall had shut "some time last week" (i.e. mid-to-late August 2026) after second-generation owner Li Shuhui "called it quits". No exact closure date has been reported; a congee stall was said to be moving into the unit.
