Worth it for / Skip if

Worth it fora table you can lock in — seats are booked through burntends.com.sg.

Skip ifyou are deciding at the door: the record carries a booking route, not a walk-in policy; you are going on a Monday and Sunday — the verified hours show the venue closed; you want to step off the train into the room — it is 14 minutes on foot from Napier MRT.

Every clause above is drawn from a named field in this venue's record — a published price, a booking route, the verified hours — and nothing else.

What it costs

No priced item is on record for this venue. Forkin publishes a price only where a dated public source carries it, so nothing is estimated here. The venue's own published price band is $$$.

The longer version

Burnt Ends holds one MICHELIN Star in the Guide's 2026 Singapore selection, whose inspectors credit savvy seasoning, careful heat control and refined charcoal cooking at the Dempsey Road premises. Independent coverage of the same site is mixed. The Ranting Panda scored the overall experience 4 out of 5 and MiddleClass reported a more comfortable, upscale room after the move. Indulgentism found real highs in the roasted chicken but called the bread dreadfully stale, the octopus special mundane and the signature pulled-pork sanger drier than its own past standard. The Ordinary Patrons rated the experience 3 out of 5 with value at 2 out of 5, and concluded that any future booking would be in the main restaurant or not at all. Those qualifications are why the stamp is WORTH A LOOK rather than top band.

Why Burnt Ends scores 7.7

WORTH A LOOK · band 7.0–8.4 (base 7.5)

The Forkin Evidence Score is a transparent calibration of the published evidence behind this venue's editorial stamp — not a personal dining rating, and never derived from Google data. It starts from the stamp's base value, applies the five evidence adjustments below, then clamps the result inside the stamp's band.

WORTH A LOOK

Confidence: medium

Forkin desk assessment of attributable public coverage — not a personal dining review.

Five countable exact-outlet evaluations, but two of them record material criticism — stale bread and a mundane seafood special in one, and a value score of 2 out of 5 with a refusal to rebook the bar area in the other. The MICHELIN one star and the strongly positive blog coverage sit alongside those, so the evidence supports a solid middle-band stamp rather than an unqualified endorsement.

Last assessed 14 August 2026 · 5 linked substantive sources

Caveat: Stamp reduced from FORKIN WORTH IT because the favourable view is not unanimous across countable sources. The URL for The Ranting Panda's review stored in the previous record returns 404; the live article was located at a corrected URL and re-dated to 30 June 2022. The previously cited Conde Nast Traveler page is undated and carries affiliate booking links; it is not used. The previously cited Auditing Foodie page could not be retrieved for verification and is not used. Four of the five countable sources date from 2022-2023; the current anchor is the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2026 selection. Coverage predating the April 2022 move from Teck Lim Road was excluded as it describes different premises. MiddleClass and The Ranting Panda make no positive declaration of self-funded independence and carry no disclosure; they are counted as corroborating sources but neither could carry a rating alone.
