The Halia

The Short Version

The Halia, the European-Asian fusion restaurant that operated in the Ginger Garden at the Singapore Botanic Gardens from 2001, served its last day on 7 April 2026. The restaurant announced its closure on 8 January 2026, and news reports that week put the final day in mid-March 2026; its own later announcement gave the exact date, saying it "will officially close its doors on 7 April 2026 (Tues), our final day of service". Asked why it was closing, the restaurant told CNA and The Straits Times the decision was "due to business and operational considerations including factors beyond daily restaurant operations". No source on record cites a lease expiry, tender or redevelopment. The group's Halia Pantry at The Villa, also within the Gardens, is recorded as permanently closed from the same date.
